Reads were mapped to the Bos taurus reference assembly UMD 3.1 [ 19] using the Burrows-Wheeler Aligner (BWA) [ 20 ]. The percentage of mapped reads ranged from 93.2 to 94.5 % with a mean of 94.1 % resulting in 288.5 Gb of data (Table 1 ).
