I've DnD'd the whole room now, and through fixed at ~250mm centres with 80mm through fixings - a total of ~200 fixings and about a day and a half hammer drilling! Then if weight of tiles, adhesive + grout an issue, add mechanical fixings, ie, drill through board and adhesive, rawlplug and screw into wall. Ideally you want to screw through adhesive and not at voids to avoid deforming the board when tightening screws.
