The town is located in the Otway Ranges midway between the Princes Highway and Great Ocean Road in the Colac Otway Shire, 176 kilometres (109 mi) south west of the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2016 census, Gellibrand had a population of 210. [1] WebGellibrand was on the Colac-Beech Forest narrow-gauge railway line (1902), but settlement appears to have occurred in the 1880s.
