Please understand … WebOnce on hold you can remove the license and even delete the user if you want. The user data will be held until the retention policy expires. Restoring data would require some powershell commands. (As a note, OneDrive will still send out deletion notifications but they can be ignored. It makes everyone nervous. Thanks MS!) If you're curious, you can create a test account and LItHold it, search it, give yourself permissions to their OneDrive, whatever and see if any notifications happen. they don't. Maybe if you made yourself the admin of their Teams room they could see that, if they were looking. I don't think Admins would get a notification either. cyclopithecus
