My information says the 2.4 DOHC engine is not an interference fit engine but valve to valve contact is possible if cams are rotated separately, same for 2.4 turbo. 2.4L SOHC is an interference fit engine. If the car has otherwise been well maintained, has good paint, interior and tires keep it!
